Best Gelato of my life! So awesome that they have a spinning gelato wheel with tons of flavors!

I get the same flavor at every gelato place I go to but this one stands out to me the most! It doesn't melt super quick, it isn't over the too sweet... It is perfect. I had the hazelnut and Nutella. My fave flavors mixed together. It was so good I finished it with a quickness.

The best gelato I've ever had - came here two nights in a row! My colleagues actually came here three nights in a row.... they liked it that much. This remains my favorite gelato shop. Great location on Espanola Way, perfect for dessert after dinner. The gelato wheel is authentic and shipped from Italy. They seem to have a lot of pride and enthusiasm in this establishment.

Scoops come with a mini cone garnish, love that extra texture. The first night I got pistachio and lemon, which turned out to be an amazing combination. Very true flavors - the pistachio was nowhere near overwhelmingly sweet, but I liked the tartness of the lemon mixing it up. Second night I got hazelnut and strawberry, which I also really enjoyed. Yes, I like the sweet + tart combos. Seems like I can't go wrong here.

Small, unassuming shop. Not much sitting room, but they have ice cream themed furniture outside! Makes it all the more fun.

We had coconut and pistachio. awesome

Always come back here when im in SoBe.  Awesome gelato and great service.  Came here twice because it was that good in a span of 5 days. Its also refreshing to grab an espresso and a cone.. its a little piece of Italia in little Espanhola Way. I always gravitate towards anything vanilla..literally and hazelnut. I go with the cup with a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of hazelnut. yum!

My crew wandered in to this lovely dessert joint for an post dinner snack.  It was quite pleasant to stroll down Espanola Way while enjoying a cone.

They have a really modern rotating Gelato wheel, the owner is actually from Italy, and they have adorable ice cream furniture. I sampled a few flavors and the standouts were hazelnut, strawberry, and pistachio.  They also have this cool whipped cream machine so you get a dollop on whipped cream on top which was unique for me.

Located Espanola Way gelato is a good way to cool down in Miami.  My favorite thing before entering are tables and chairs they have, they're made of ice cream comes!!

  • *****

Simple: I felt like I was back in Italia. Best ice cream I've had since coming back from Italia a year ago!

  • *****

Coconut & pistachio & hazelnut. Spin the wheel and pick any flavor. You cant go wrong either way all of em good.

Friendly service, ok price but good ice cream/gelato! Very nice place; will be on the stop by list when I am in town!

I've had gelato before, but never really understood what the fuss was about.  Until trying Milani Gelateria.  Now I believe!  The pistachio was very good, and the lemon was amazing.

This is absolutely the best gelato I ever ate in my all life!! amazing texture, creamy , you can tell this gelato is daily homemade, I ve been here 3 days in a row, absolutely deliciuos!!!! If you are in Milani you can say you tried the true Italian Gelato !!!
Price are moderate and good quantity!!!!

I've always loved this place because it's reasonably priced, excellent quality gelato for two scoops in a cup including a mini cone garnish. Their lemon flavor is MY FAVORITE! So refreshing and fresh, it tastes so natural! It's the perfect mixture of tarte and sweet. Their strawberry comes second best, it also tastes natural and pairs well with the lemon, like a strawberry limonata haha. They let you sample two flavors only, so choose wisely. Their stracciatella is alright, nothing special. The caramel cream is too sweet. Tonight, I tried the Nutella and tiramisu.

THE NUTELLA IS GREAT. It tastes just like Nutella except with a stronger kick of hazelnut. If you eat it with the mini cone that comes wit every cup, it's as if you're eating a Ferrari rocher! The strawberry would pair well with this too. And I loooove the tiramisu! The tiramisu gelato actually has layers of tiramisu cake fused in it. Usually, the woman fills up the cup from top to bottom but today, she didn't. I guess she was either in a rush or she hated my friends and I. Haha oh well, I'm still coming back for the delicious affordable gelato!

Came for an afternoon delight, and I must say it was definitely a bliss. Creamy delicious gelato, pretty street. I tried their pistachio and coconut flavors and it came with a cute little cone and I love their spinning display!

Best ice cream, or gelato, in south Beach, and Miami for that matter! Creamy, flavorful and a perfect waffle cone! The bests are Nutella and Hazelnut, for me at least.
Make it a MUST PIT STOP in your fun day plans!

Wish they had free cold tap water though.

Great gelato and friendly service on a pretty street.  This place is simple and fun.

Great location.  After grabbing a cup you can walk the streets and take in the neighborhood.   Walking distance to the beach.

Tried this place on a scorching hot Miami day to get some cool respite. Nestled in the beautiful Espanol way this store is a hole in the wall...u blink... U miss.

The outside of the store is lined with colorful ice cream cone shaped colorful chairs. The inside was dark mainly coz it wasn't too busy & the person in charge chose not to turn any lights on.

All the gelatos are stored in a giant wheel shaped freezer which made me feel like I was at a game show... Spin the wheel & determine your flavor of the day!! On a serious note there aren't an overwhelming number of choices, probably 10. My favorite was the white chocolate which was truly divine. The vanilla came a close second....I am not a fan of vanilla ice cream in general but this one changed my mind. It had more than sufficient vanilla flavor in it for you to actually be able to taste it.

A tad on the pricier end...approx $6 dollars for 2small scoops on a waffle come but it's worth getting a gelato break once in a while!

Okay, as a dude that once worked in a gelato joint, I have to give this place a whole lotta props. Gelato can easily be too milky for some (it's made with milk, after all), but Milani manages to keep the creaminess. Fun flavors, cool cooler, and rad atmosphere, tucked away on Espanola Way (look for the ice cream cone chairs and tables).

Try the bacio, you might just cry a tiny tear of joy.

  • *****

I had the bacio. It tastes like Nutella. Great fresh ingredients. They can make shakes. One scoop is 4.30. Toppings are 50 cents. You can get containers to go. Very creamy. They have tables outside. Great to sit outside and watch people along Hispaniola way.

Cream Carmel was excellent gelato.  It's the best I have ever had.  The spinning gelato server was impressive and keeps the temperature just right!  I'd recommend this as a snack to cleanse your palate.

  • *****

Soooo yummy!!!! And refreshing in that Miami heat. My only beef is that they have nothing BUT gelato....I was hoping for sorbetto but oh well. I recommend the mango and vanilla gelatos. Prices aren't bad either :)

  • *****

Best authentic gelato in Miami!  Really the way Italy does it. And yes if you like the Ferrer Rocher chocolates... Bacio is the way to go.  So Yummy.  The Frutti di bosco (wild berries) is also very rich but refreshing.

  • *****

sorbetto, thats whats up. i like it so i sometimes crave it. i missed the south beach local bus on washington and espanola so i knew the next one would take 15-20 minutes to come by so i went ahead and got me some italian ice.

friendly service, the girl behind the counter friendly and helpful. i normally dont mix lemon sorbetto with anything but she convinced me to have a scoop of strawberry too which was actually really good all together. however, i thought the sorbetto base was maybe a bit creamy and i like water based like its supposed to be... i guess?

but i liked it and next time i might try some gelato.

My husband went back 4 times to get another cup.  Kids loved it.  The place is situated in a LOVELY section of South Beach...Take some time and go.  A really nice and lovely time was had by all!

Wish we had exquisite gelato like this in Boston!

  • *****

well it looks liek my friends and i got lucky to stumble upon this gelateria strolling down espanola way on a super duper humid day in sobe. we were intrigued because to be honest we wanted a casual inexpensive place to sit down and perhaps people watch(and maybe get some AC) haha. the flavors are definitely catchy along with the display and we all basically pestered the employee to give us a sample of each to see which we would end up buying. definitely a delicious summer treat!!!!

  • *****

When I went to Rome I became a gelato fanatic so I had to try this establishment when I saw it while strolling down Espanola Way.  The pistachio is very good  but in Rome good lemon is more subtle.  Perhaps they are catering to American tastes.  On future visits I hope to try more of their flavors.

Milani Gelateria has the classic Gelato flavors. They are delicious, well presented, and well priced. I would consider myself a connoisseur of Gelato and MIlani's does not disappoint. The shop was very nicely laid out and the way the Gelato was presented and served was unique and fun. If I go back to Miami Beach, FL I will be stopping by Milani's again!

  • *****

Definitely the best gelato I have tried in America.  It's so authentic tasting, and being on a cute cobblestone street doesn't hurt.  Only loses a star because I don't think they are extremely careful with cross-contamination of nuts, since we had a minor reaction from it each time we went.

  • *****

Get the lemon. It is awesome!!!

  • *****

Best gelato!! Tiny little shop on Espanola Way in South Beach, not a huge selection but the gelato tastes smooth and flavorful! Mango is my favorite. It was perfect on a hot summer night!

  • *****

Absolutely the best ice-cream! If you are in Miami you must try it.

Great gelato. Overpriced but great. If they were a little more affordable, they'd sell more. Good service

    Yum!

Original Italian home-made ice-cream. Try it!

Excellent gelato. One of the best I've had. A bit pricey but once in a while will not hurt your wallet

I have been here several times and its always great! They have an awesome rotating freezer which looks very space age in their otherwise cutesy establishment. I always have the baccio because it is so AMAZING. My husband could swim in a tub of their coconut. The gelato is very rich and truly tastes homemade. So far they have the best gelato in Miami.

I don't usually care much about decorating for most places I go to, but Milani has super cute Euro ice cream parlor theme. Like most of the establishments on Espanola, you feel very far from Miami Beach.

We look forward to coming here for many years to come!

After a disappointing and unsatisfying dinner, we stopped in here to look around and ended up getting dessert.

The sorbet I had was the BEST I have ever tasted. So creamy, I asked a few times if it was gelato and not sorbet.
Flavor was amazing as well. I actually loved my sorbet so much I didn't feel like I was settling for it instead of gelato. (Since going mostly dairy free, I do occasionally feel that way.)

My hubby's gelato was also quite possibly the best he had ever had.

Service was great, the Italian guy working there was adorable, and nice enough to let us taste a few flavors.

A little pricey, but well worth it.

One of favorite things I ate in Miami. I wish there was a place in my neighborhood that produced such an amazing product.

  • *****

My girlfriend grew up in Italy and her verdict is that this gelato is as Italian as it gets. The flavors are rich and delectable. Francesco, the owner, is from torino and makes the gelato right there in the shop.

Get in there and have some already! Seriously.

I stopped here in early January 2013 while on vacation. I've been to numerous gelaterias in Italy  and this gelateria is the real deal. It has the right consistency and flavor. Absolutely delicious. The gentleman working when I was there was very pleasant and helpful, translating the Italian names of some flavors for my friends.  Please understand that when in an artisan gelateria you should expect to pay a little more for a cup or cone than in a traditional American ice cream shop; that said, for the quality of the product I thought the price was fair, especially being in Miami Beach. I've only had strawberry gelato twice that was better than here, and that's saying something. The rotating display case in the store is really cool, too.

Love, love, love this place. They have the most amazing gelato on the beach. It is right in the heart of Espanola Way, so stop here when you are strolling around, or even after dinner at a nearby restaurant. They keep the selections simple and fresh. Only drawback is that it is around the corner from my house, and every time I pass it, I want to get some!

Last stop! best gelateria in miami!!!

Reason to love Yelp #714: knowledgeable go-to Yelp Masters just a text message away.

After a surprisingly good lunch on Espanola Way, my large party of house guests age 45-5 craved something cold and sweet.

I texted young, international woman of mystery, Miami Yelp's Maria A:

    "Espanola Way. Ice Cream?"

Cut to cool and shiny gelateria up the street serving creamy Italian goodness scooped by a sweet Italian.

We had to run to the nearby-ish ATM because they only accept cash, but it was worth it. We all enjoyed rich chocolate and THE best pistachio cones ever. There were several more flavors -- all made fresh.

Italian was in the air and everywhere, people smiled and licked . It was like a Fellini movie -  with texting, gelato... and Yelp. (Graci, Maria A.)

Get the Bacio.  This is the one time to succumb to peer-pressure.  Do it.  Everyone else is.

It's Nutella flavored with hazelnut and chocolate.  I'm honestly not talented enough to accurately describe the yummy flavor.  It's pure delight.  Yeah, that's Pulitzer material right there.

The display is unique and fun.  The portions are generous and you're not limited to only one flavor!  I can't think of any meaningful suggestions so that translates to 5 stars!

I got a kick out of the ice-cream cone chairs in front of the shop too.

Quit reading this review and try this place out!

I happened to be on Espanola Way with my wife, 4 kids, Mother -inlaw and Wife's grandparents, and not happy as I usually stay off of this street.  But my kids were dying for some ice-cream so we ended up inside.

I was shocked to find the state of the art Italian Gelato equipment with one of the coolest dispay freezers on the planet (see photos).  My kids were already eating their gelato when I walked in with my middle son. (the kids are all under 6 years old).

The Italian owner was VERY kind and told me about the qualithy of ingredients and I was surprised when I finally tasted some of the best Gelato I have ever had.  The vanilla was so rich and intense, it might have been the best Vanilla Ice cream I have ever eaten,  You could taste the freshness in the flavor.  The Gelato tasts so rich, and has such a creamy consistancy the flavor explodes on your tongue.  I ended up having Coconut mixed with Vanilla and my son had Straciotella (sp).

We will definately be going out of our way to eat the gelato here next time.  If you are anywhere near Lincoln Road.....go out of your way to try this place.

Even with Gelateria4D basically being next door I continue to make the long (14 block) trip up to Milani because it's that good.  Instead of the cup or cone this time I spent the extra $10 to get the medium to go container, lord knows I'll be hungry later.

I was actually quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews on this place.  It was really great.

We went to S. Beach for vacation recently and found this place just down the street from our hotel (The Z Ocean Resort - fantastic and subject of another review).  Located in a pedestrian zone with cobbled streets and lined with tourist restaurants (the kind with people in front trying to harrangue you into eating there, including one guy dressed like Caesar in front of the Italian Place.  However, without any flash, the Milani Gelateria enticed is into the store with the simple word "Gelateria" and a hot and humid 90 degree evening; there was nothing sultry about this - we went in to get some Coolant!

Franceso was in the store that evening, wearing his signature Dew Rag over a head of out-of-control locks and charming everyone with his accent.  The carousel of vibrant-colored ices were spinning and he was ready to tell you about everything.

The first night, I tried the Bacci - a hazelnut and chocolate flavoured ice with hazelnut crunchies in it - and the Mango.  The Bacci was like Nutella with attitude, which I loved, but the mango actually sang with the flavor of fresh mangos so ripe you could almost see them in front of your eyes.

This ritual of Milani Gelateria became our standard after each evening meal in South Beach - and, unashamedly, after several lunches as well.

The Bacci can't be beat, but I also recommend without reservation the Pistacchio, the Hazelnut, the MMMMMango, and Strasticcelli - Italian Vanilla with bittersweet Chocolate Chunks.  And you can trust me because I have had them all.  Several times.  To insure consistency.

I can tell you that if I lived in South Beach and had this place near me, I would definitely not have one of those beautiful South Beach bodies.  OK, actually, I don't have that now.  But Milani would give me the excuse I need.

  • *****

Highly recommend making a stop by here while walking through Espanola Way. The owner is a sweetheart from Torino that is making each of the gelatos from scratch on his own trying to keep the gelato tasting as authentic as possible. Each flavor is representative of one of Italy's regions, and very tasty.

The gelato is very sweet and delicious. I recommend it to anyone who misses the taste of a half bacio half nocciola on a hot Italian summer day. Delizioso!

  • *****

I've got one word for you - bacio.  What is that you ask?  Well, let me tell you.  It's when nutella and chocolate get busy in the backseat and BAM...you got yourself some bacio.  Milani Gelateria has the raddest gelato freezer/display/spinny thing I have ever seen.  I can only hope to have something like that in the middle of my nonexistent kitchen one day.

The guy who makes the gelato is straight out of Italy and knows his stuff.  Everything is made with the freshest ingredients and it truly shows in their gelato.  The texture is amazing.  Top it off with a mini cake cone and you're ready to go.  Portions are generous and you aren't limited to just getting one flavor in your cup.  If you want to do half/half, they'll do that for you too.  I've been to many gelaterias and I have to say this is the best.

  • *****

This is absolutely without a doubt the best most authentic gelato I've ever had in my entire life.  The pistachio was DELICIOUS!  I keep dreaming of coming back to visit Miami Beach and indulging in the gelato.  This was a stop on a Miami Beach food tour that I took last January and it definitely made quite the impression.

  • *****

I loved it!  We had the mixed berry which tasted very fresh and I am a fan of the vanilla with caramel.  Perfect portions and they will split the cup with 2 flavors at no additional charge.

My boyfriend and I first discovered Milani Gelateria late one night while strolling down charming, cobblestoned Española Way in South Beach, FL. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we couldn't think of anything better than plopping down on a bench and people-watching while enjoying some gelato.

The friendly, red-bandanna-wearing server patiently described all of the enticing flavors, and even offered us samples to try. Oh, and did I mention that he could be a freaking Italian model, with his dark, tousled hair and high, sculpted cheekbones? And sexy Italian accent? Ahem. I later found out that he's Francesco Pasqua, the 28-year-old OWNER of this place! I'm even more impressed.

On to the gelato! This is by far the best, freshest gelato I've EVER tasted in my life! Not too sweet, not too heavy, yet somehow still very rich with flavor. Milani's selection of flavors is limited, but this didn't deter us in the least. Flavors like pistachio, mango, and bacio (chocolate and hazelnut's lovechild) are made from scratch daily with ingredients flown in from Italy.

I also have to take a moment to comment on the decor! I love the modern lines of Milani's black-and-red logo (I'm a graphic designer, after all). And the black-and-white zebra-striped walls are very much my style. This tiny shop has a high-tech, Italian designer Vespa-like feel to it, complete with stainless steel "roulette wheel" freezers that rotate while showcasing their beautiful, artisanal gelato flavors.

LOVE THIS PLACE. If I had some serious moolah, I'd probably open up a Milani franchise right here in New England, just so I could get my fix. But of course it could never come close to that little Italian gelateria that sits quietly on romantic Española Way.

2 scoops in a cup, pistachio and coconut; awesome!

  • *****

This charming, clean, brightly-lit store is nestled like a jewel in the middle of Española Way. There isn't a huge selection of flavors, but what they do have is fresh and made perfectly and absolutely delicious. Every flavor I tried was perfection, though I have to say I was partial to my chocolate and hazelnut two-flavor cup. (Yes, I know I could have gotten the bacio, but that's premixed and I wanted to try the flavors separately, okay?)

I like this place a lot and will return. It's a perfectly romantic place to stop on a date, or just while strolling around South Beach during a sweltering Miami night.

  • *****

looooove this place! and where it's located not bad either! I have never been to espanola waybut defiantely a great place to see. A little bit of euro in miami!

The owner is Francesco he is sooooooooooo cute and sweet. He makes his gelato daily so you know its fresh. The flavors are to die for. My favorite is the berry one lol. other flavors that were just as good is the pistacio (he gets them delievered from spain) and coconut.

You can get away with ordering a Medium (only other size is large) and there is a lot more gelato than you think. Which you get 2 scoops mix and match with a little tiny cone on top.

    LOVE IT here

  • *****

Great gelato spot.  The gelato is super creamy and flavorful.  I tried the Dulce de Leche and the Stracciatella, both of which were excellent.  This is the perfect frozen treat on a hot Miami day.

  • *****

I loved the service here. Oh, and my gelato too.

The girl was so nice for telling me I could get two flavors in my cup.

    Pistachio + coconut. Yum.

I also love the ice cream cone seats.

  • *****

    Holy Mouth Explosion!
Hard to miss given the ice cream cone shaped seats outside on Espaniola Way.

I thought it was just me, but I KNOW this place is that good: I've seen "Miami Culinary Tours" make a stop here with a group. If it's worth stopping here, you know it's worth it. Go there now!!

Bacio is Nutella, Pistachio is to die for, and my cousin and husband swear by Lemon.

  • *****

I've been to this gelateria on two different occasions and both times I've left very happy. Normally I would say the gelato is priced a bit high but at Milani the gelato is comparable to the delicacy from Italy. This is because the owner  is from italy. I had a nice chat with her in Italian which warranted her to give me and my Italian girlfriend a larger helping of gelato! The restaurant is located on Espanola way and at night the walk is very romantic. Take your date here. I have to recommend this place.

  • *****

Good attentive service!  Servings were small but very tasty!  Give it a shot if you want some gelato!  I ended up getting another serving because it was delicious!

  • *****

Employees are Italian, the gelato is fresh and homemade, and their selection is varied and displayed in the form of a spinning wheel, what else can you ask for? Prices aren't bad either.  I ordered 2 scoops, one was a vanilla with chocolate chip and the other one was coconut.  The coconut had actual flakes of coconut, something that isn't all that common anymore (most places just resort to artificial flavoring, and that is it).  Considering it can get quite hot on the beach, this place hits the spot while strolling the cute Espanola Way area.

  • *****

    Supper Yummy!!!!!

i have never had creamier gelato - and by real Italians!  with real Italian accents!

I love that spinning cooler -

On Espanola Way - a supper cute part of the city - a great way to cool down after a hot muggy walk around Miami Beach.....
